CSW Printable "How to Measure Your Head" Form

Before you start:  For most accurate results, style hair as flat as possible either by braiding it flat or wrapping it for short hair.   IMPORTANT:  Make sure that you measure ACCURATELY.  If you do not measure properly, your wig may not fit.  Measure at least 2-3 times to be sure.  Use a soft measure tape to measure.  We take measurements in whole and half inches.  So please round your measurements up not down.  Example: 12 3/4 should be rounded up to 13 and 12 1/4 should be rounded up to 12 1/2.  Special Note:  If you are bald or do not have a hair line - you do not need to add the inch - simply put the tape measure where you would like your hairline to begin with the wig.  The averages below are just examples.  Not everyone will meet these measurements - some may be under or over and that is perfectly fine.

1. The Circumference of the Head:  Your Measurement: _____________

Measure all around the head. Position tape measure so its edge follows the hair line around the head and nape of the neck. (Average measurement is 22 inches).
2. From Forehead to Nape of Neck:  Your Measurement: _____________

Measure from hairline at center of forehead straight back over crown to center of hairline at nape of neck.  Note: Place the tape measure at your hairline in the front of forehead while taking the measure to the hairline at the back of your Nape (neck).  Keeping in mind that your cap is glued to the outside perimeter of your natural hairline on your skin.   (Example Measurement: 14 inches).  Then ADD 1 inch to the measurement results.  This is VERY IMPORTANT.  If you do not add the inch, your wig will be too small and will not be able to be glued in front of your hairline.

3. Ear to Ear Across Front Hairline:  Your Measurement: _____________

At front of ear, measure from hairline at base of sideburn, up across the hair line along forehead to same point in front of other ear. (Average measurement is 12 inches).
4. From Ear to Ear Over Top of Head:  Your Measurement: _____________

Measure from hairline directly above the ear across top of head to the hairline directly above the other ear. (Average measurement is 13 inches).
5. Point to Point:  Your Measurement: _____________

From temple to temple across the back of head. (Example Measurement: 14  inches).  Note: Place the tape measure at your temple to temple point on each side of your head as shown in the picture.  Keeping in mind that your cap is glued to the outside perimeter of your natural hairline in this area as well.  Then ADD 1 inch to the measurement results.  This is VERY IMPORTANT.  If you do not add the inch, your wig will be too small and will not be able to be glued in front of your hairline.
6. Nape of Neck:  Your Measurement: _____________

Measure the width of hairline across the nape of the neck. (Average measurement is 5 1/2 inches).
